Our Story

Why We Started Davimo

My sister couldn’t sleep.

Night after night. Nothing helped. She was moody in ways I didn’t recognize, exhausted in ways sleep wasn’t fixing, in pain she couldn’t always explain. We went to doctor after doctor. The tests kept coming back clean — no infection, no disease, nothing with a name. Just a woman falling apart in ways no one could account for.

So I started researching for her. That’s when I found the actual problem: it wasn’t her. It was that almost nobody in Nigeria was talking about menopause at all — not doctors reaching for it as an explanation, not mothers warning their daughters, not one product on a shelf built for what she was going through. The symptoms had a name. The silence around them didn’t.

Once I knew what to look for, I couldn’t stop seeing it — women in their forties and fifties who weren’t sick, exactly, just quietly enduring instead of living. And I started understanding what that silence actually costs. Hormonal decline brings real symptoms: vaginal dryness that makes sex painful, a higher risk of urinary tract infections that partners can end up sharing too. A woman who’s exhausted and in pain loses interest in sex for reasons that have nothing to do with her marriage. But if nobody has told her husband what’s happening in her body, he doesn’t see a medical change — he sees his wife pulling away. Too many men fill that silence with the worst explanation they can find, certain she must be seeing another man. I’ve watched marriages break over something that had an explanation all along — just not one anyone had ever given them.

That gap — between what was happening in these women’s bodies and what anyone had told them or their husbands — is the reason Davimo exists. Not to sell a supplement first. To say, plainly, what almost no one else is saying here: this is a real, hormonal stage of life, not something to just endure in silence. You can treat it. You can feel like yourself again. You can enjoy living again.

That’s what I wanted for my sister. It’s what Davimo is for every woman living through the same silence.
